Rosetta Stone Launches New Content and Languages for Rosetta Stone Version 3
Leading Language-Learning Solution Adds Levels to Deepen Understanding and Command of New Language

ARLINGTON, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May. 11, 2009-- Rosetta Stone Inc. (NYSE:RST), a leading provider of technology-based language-learning solutions, announced today that the company has introduced new content and languages for Rosetta Stone® Version 3, allowing people to unlock their natural language-learning ability. Levels 4 and 5 of Rosetta Stone Version 3 will be available to individuals, organizations, schools and homeschoolers looking to strengthen their English or Spanish (Latin America) language skills. The new levels include extended, more complex conversations and grammar, expanded vocabulary, and additional opportunities for speaking that prepare the learner for everyday interactions in their language of study.

Building on the skills previously acquired in Levels 1–3 of Rosetta Stone Version 3, Levels 4 and 5 will deepen learners’ understanding and command of the language. These new levels for Spanish (Latin America) and English will allow language learners of any age to seamlessly pick up their instruction from previous levels without a gap in their language-learning process, so they can continue to build upon their success.

Also released today, Filipino (Tagalog), Latin, Turkish and Vietnamese are now available in Levels 1, 2, and 3 of Rosetta Stone Version 3. Users will be able to learn these new languages the same way they learned their first language – with no translation. Individuals, organizations, schools and homeschoolers will now have Filipino (Tagalog), Latin, Turkish and Vietnamese at their fingertips.

“By extending the Rosetta Stone Version 3 offering to include these popular languages and new levels, we’re making it easier than ever to learn a new language,” said Tom Adams, CEO of Rosetta Stone. “Whether it’s to open new doors professionally or to sharpen your mind, learning a new language is a powerful way to invest in yourself.”

The Rosetta Stone Approach to Language Learning

With its proven method, innovative and versatile instruction, and clever, easy-to-use program, Rosetta Stone creates an effective and engaging learning environment. Language learners develop everyday proficiency naturally, the same way people learn their first language.

The Rosetta Stone Dynamic Immersion® method immediately teaches learners to think in a new language by connecting words with vivid imagery in real-life contexts to convey meaning. Learners become proficient in understanding the new language by deriving meaning from relevant context and through exposure to native speakers. They acquire reading and writing skills by associating letters and words with their new sound and meanings, and life-like simulations provide the context learners need to produce completely new language. In addition, learners are tested on new language knowledge at optimal intervals to ensure efficient retention, and instant feedback is provided within a carefully sequenced structure to ensure learning success.
