Rosetta Stone Celebrates International Culture and Learning with Passport DC
Arlington, Virginia-Based Language-Learning Company Sponsors Third Annual Passport DC Event

ARLINGTON, Va., Apr 28, 2010 (BUSINESS WIRE) --Rosetta Stone Inc. (NYSE:RST), a leading provider of technology-based language-learning solutions, today announced its sponsorship of the third annual Passport DC event in Washington D.C. Passport DC is organized by Cultural Tourism DC, an independent nonprofit coalition of more than 230 culture, heritage and community organizations, which develop, deliver and celebrate real experiences for D.C.-area residents and visitors.

Passport DC kicks off May 1 with the Around the World Embassy Tour, where more than 30 embassies, including Japan, Korea, Thailand, Colombia, Brazil and Mexico, will invite the public to taste their delicacies, hear their local music and view the elegant dress of nations from around the globe. Throughout the month of May, Washington D.C. residents and tourists are encouraged to celebrate and sample international culture, art, music, dance and food from the city's embassies and international cultural centers.

"The goal of Cultural Tourism DC is to begin global conversations that promote curiosity about foreign countries," said Linda Harper, executive director of Cultural Tourism DC. "Passport DC allows participants to interact with people around the world and we are glad that companies such as Rosetta Stone support our program's mission to expand communication and understanding on a global scale."

With the Around the World Embassy Tour, participants will have the opportunity to learn more about Rosetta Stone(R) language-learning solutions and learn the language of their favorite embassy or culture. With its proven immersion method, Rosetta Stone creates an effective and engaging learning environment. Language learners develop everyday proficiency naturally, the same way people learn their first language - by linking new words to real-world objects and events.

"Rosetta Stone is changing the way the world learns languages and is also providing learners with an appreciation and understanding of diverse cultures. Our sponsorship of Passport DC is a natural extension of our commitment to connecting and educating people about the world around them," said Tom Adams, CEO of Rosetta Stone. "Our unique approach to language learning allows us to teach 31 languages to millions of people in more than 150 countries throughout the world. We are excited to support and celebrate international culture in our company's own backyard, Washington D.C., where there are more embassies than any other city in the world."
