ARLINGTON, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 15, 2011-- Rosetta Stone Inc. (NYSE: RST), a leading provider of technology-based language-learning solutions, today announced the award of multiple contracts amounting to $2.3 million with educational and government institutions in Colombia, Panama, Mexico, and the Caribbean over the last few months. In Panama, where students currently enrolled in a university or school are required by law to be proficient in English before graduation, Rosetta Stone plays a key role in the educational system. The Universidad del Istmo, a member of the Whitney Schools and one of the top universities in the country, will be the first university in Panama to use Rosetta Stone’s Version 3 solution to meet the requirements of this new law. Rosetta Stone will be integrated into the curriculum for as many as 5,000 students and will be available on campus and through The Universidad del Istmo’s virtual university system, Global Learning.

Tecnológico de Monterrey Preparatoria

Rosetta Stone was also awarded the contract to be the language-learning partner of choice for Tecnológico de Monterrey Preparatoria, the preparatory institution for Tecnológico de Monterrey, one of the top universities in Mexico. Through this contract, Rosetta Stone will provide more than 3,500 students of Prepa Tec with Rosetta Stone® Version 4 TOTALe® and Version 3 language learning solutions so that they can be fully immersed in the English language.

Caribbean Examination Council

Rosetta Stone will also work with the Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC) to provide multilingual offerings to over 2,000 learners, with a focus on Spanish examination preparation. The CXC is the leading provider of examinations for secondary schools in the Caribbean; it spans 19 different countries and works closely with their Ministries of Education.
