Rosetta Stone Hits the Track as the New Official Language-Learning Solution of USA Track & Field

ARLINGTON, VA (December 3, 2014) -- USA Track & Field (USATF) and Rosetta Stone Inc. (RST) today announced a multi-year partnership naming Rosetta Stone the official language-learning solution of USATF. Beginning today, all USATF members and Team USA athletes will have the opportunity to broaden their horizons and improve their communication skills with access to 24 languages in the Rosetta Stone language-learning suite of products. Additionally, GlobeSmart® online cultural training will be made available to USATF elite athletes and staff through Rosetta Stone's partnership with Aperian Global, Inc.

Benefits of the partnership include special pricing on Rosetta Stone products for USATF members and free licenses and cultural training to Team USA athletes. The brands will also engage in promotions that will feature elite athletes and fans.

"We are very excited about what this partnership means for our athletes, members and fans," USATF CEO Max Siegel said of the partnership. "Rosetta Stone will provide support for our athletes to grow professionally, learning the language and culture of the countries in which they compete. Equally important is that USATF members and fans benefit as well. Rosetta Stone offers the opportunity for all of our members to become global ambassadors of USATF and Team USA."

"The opportunity for our athletes to learn a new language as they travel the globe representing the United States of America will significantly impact their experience, both on and off the track," said George Perry, Director of Corporate Strategic Partnerships at Rosetta Stone.  "The power of sport and language to unite people from all over the world is truly amazing and we are delighted to continue to grow our global sports partnerships with the premier U.S. National Sports Governing Body to bring international athletes, coaches, officials and fans together through language and sport."

With the upcoming 2015 IAAF World Championships taking place in Beijing and the 2016 Olympic Games headed to Rio de Janeiro, USATF athletes will have the benefit of having Mandarin and Portuguese among the language options available to them in advance of these landmark global events.

"I want to be able to interact with track & field fans across the globe," said two-time Olympian Michelle Carter. "As an elite athlete, I am constantly navigating different countries and cultures. Learning a few phrases helps but using Rosetta Stone will make a world of difference."

Fans are encouraged to engage with USATF and Rosetta Stone across all social platforms using the hashtag #RaceWithRosetta. Post a photo of your favorite international excursion, tell us what language you've always wanted to learn or a small tidbit about your dream destination.
