The TORONTO 2015 Pan Am/Parapan Am Games Selects Rosetta Stone to Provide Language Training Programs for Volunteers

(Thomson Reuters ONE via COMTEX) --ARLINGTON, VA (June 30, 2015) - With one of the world's largest international multi-sport Games gearing up to kick-off this summer, the TORONTO 2015 Pan American and Parapan American Games have joined with renowned language learning provider Rosetta Stone (NYSE: RST) to help welcome the world to the Games and provide its acclaimed language learning solutions to the competition's more than 23,000 volunteers. With sport delegations attending from 41 countries from across Latin America, South America, the Caribbean and North America, effective communication is critical to the event's success.

To enhance communications between the volunteers and these international visitors, the TORONTO 2015 Organizing Committee (TO2015) is providing volunteers with the opportunity to learn French or Spanish with Rosetta Stone's award winning online language learning software. Thanks to Rosetta Stone, volunteers will be more prepared and confident in their communications throughout the Games.

"Planning, organizing and staging the Games is a true team effort and we're grateful that Rosetta Stone has joined our partner family as a Proud Supporter. Our partners are generously providing their products, services, expertise and enthusiasm to make these the best Pan Am/Parapan Am Games ever," said Saäd Rafi, Chief Executive Officer of the TORONTO 2015 Pan Am/Parapan Am Games Organizing Committee (TO2015). "It's truly inspiring to see so many people getting behind the Games and helping our region get ready to welcome the Americas for a summer to remember in 2015."

"We're proud to be a supporter of this year's Games, especially knowing that our programs will have a profound and lasting effect on the experiences of both the players and the people helping the Games come to life," said Judy Verses, Global President of Rosetta Stone's Enterprise & Education Division. "We have the power to help bring people together from all over the world through language, and that's really special."

Taking place July 10-26 and August 7-15, respectively, the Pan Am and Parapan Am Games will host approximately 7,500 athletes and are only surpassed in size and scope by the Olympic Summer Games and the Asian Games. Volunteers will travel to Toronto from across the Greater Golden Horseshoe region and beyond, and have the opportunity to interact with international athletes, officials, sport association leaders and fans from around the world.

"We've received tremendous feedback from our volunteers regarding Rosetta Stone's language learning initiative. They're extremely grateful for the opportunity to learn one of the official languages of the Games and not only will these new language skills allow them to provide a higher level of service to the athletes, spectators and guests from across the Pan-Americas, but they will also serve them well in their future volunteer and employment endeavors," continued Rafi.

The new relationship with the Pan Am and Parapan Am Games is the latest example of how Rosetta Stone is being utilized by some of the world's most recognized sports organizations to improve their game. Most recently, both the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) and USA Track & Field implemented language training into their programs by working with Rosetta Stone. The company is also currently the language-learning provider of choice for various U.S. sports teams, including the National Football League's Arizona Cardinals and Major League Baseball's Washington Nationals, in addition to many athletes worldwide.
