Rosetta Stone and Siemens Professional Education win eLearning AWARD 2018 for most innovative workplace learning program

Arlington, VA and Munich, Germany, Feb. 21, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Rosetta Stone Inc. (NYSE: RST), one of the world's leading providers of digital language learning programs, today announced that together with Siemens Professional Education, it has been awarded the eLearning AWARD 2018 in the Language Training category for the English in Education professional education program at Siemens’ headquarters in Germany.

With approximately 8,800 apprentices and work-study program participants in Germany, Siemens is one of the world’s largest and most innovative training providers. Each year, the company hires some 1,500 apprentices and work-study program participants, with training focusing on administrative, technical, and IT-related fields. Siemens Professional Education provides support and training for these young people.  The unit is responsible for supervising and training program participants and has been working with Rosetta Stone since 2013 to implement a world-class language training program for its workforce. One of the world’s largest providers of energy-efficient, resource-saving technologies, Siemens is a leading supplier of power generation and transmission systems as well as solutions for the healthcare industry.

The eLearning AWARD is a valuable confirmation of the project’s success and the strong cooperation between the two companies. The eLearning AWARD will be officially presented to Rosetta Stone and Siemens at the “didacta Education Fair” this week in Hannover, Germany.

“We’re very pleased to have received – together with Rosetta Stone – the eLearning AWARD for our English language program. Our e-learning platform is designed to be very intuitive and diversified and, at the same time, very effective. Live sessions with native speakers also make the program highly interactive. Individual time planning and accessibility via digital devices are prerequisites for life-long learning, which will be increasingly important in the age of digitalization,” explained Thomas Leubner, Chief Learning Officer at Siemens AG.

Following a successful pilot project in 2013, more than 4,000 apprentices and students participating in work-study programs at 30 locations across Siemens’ organization have registered for training with Rosetta Stone since 2014, when the program was officially rolled out. The company invested in this partnership with Rosetta Stone because it was looking for an efficient solution for training and continuously motivating a very heterogeneous learner group while maintaining high data privacy standards.

"We’re proud of the successful partnership we’ve had with Siemens Professional Education over the years, and this award is a testament to both the effectiveness of our product and Siemen’s dedication to improving employees’ personal and professional development,” said Matt Hulett, President of Language, Rosetta Stone. “Our digital language learning programs have the flexibility to train a diverse group of learners in a location-independent and standardized way that works. We applaud the team at Siemens for recognizing the value that language education can bring to its workforce and its business, and thank the eLearning AWARD organizers for this recognition.

Susan Michelchen, who works at Siemens Professional Education and holds a master’s degree in education management, adds, "We too are proud of the award. Above all, the support of the local learners and the continuous evaluation of their feedback contributed to the joint project’s success. In Rosetta Stone, Siemens Professional Education has found a partner at eye level who has accompanied us reliably from the start."
