The Margaret Byrd Rawson Award recognizes the work of an individual to advance the mission of IDA. The Award is given each year to an IDA member whose work on behalf of IDA embodies Margaret Rawson’s compassion, leadership, commitment to excellence, fervent advocacy for people with dyslexia, and whose work is nationally recognized as furthering the mission of IDA. Dr. Carreker joined Lexia Learning in 2015, spearheading the curriculum design of a ground-breaking reading program for adolescent non-proficient readers, Lexia PowerUp Literacy™ (PowerUp). The program simultaneously accelerates the development of both fundamental literacy skills and higher-order thinking skills for students in grades 6 and above through adaptive learning paths.
